Dave Driver’s theme park career started with a mouse, an apprenticeship, and a whole lot of drive. With an electrical construction background in-hand, Dave helps AOA illuminate the fine details on big projects.
Dave started his career at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 1972 – just one year after the popular park opened. From the get-go, Dave became an electrifying addition to the new park’s repertoire; he worked on classic attractions like Splash Mountain, Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean, and other great, big, beautiful escapades. Along the lines of his career, Dave gained five Florida certified contractor licenses and a B.Sc. in Business Management, and used those skills to carry him to new heights at Walt Disney Imagineering. Alongside Engineering Services, Imagineers, Architects, and many other Walt Disney professionals, Dave worked on brand new attractions, shows, and theme park offerings across the globe.
And speaking of offerings across the globe, Dave worked on the genesis of Disney Cruise Line. As the first Disney ships, the Magic and the Wonder, launched into the bay and into a never-before-seen guest experience. Whether it’s soarin’ through new electrical systems or navigating a tower of terrifying project issues, Dave was an integral part of making Disney dreams a reality. Alongside AOA, he continues to turn mouse-made concepts into people-made constructions.
Dave carries his experience in electrical construction across high-end hotels, thrilling theme parks, and so much more. Since joining the AOA team, his experience has expanded past theme parks and into art installations and hospitality projects. While Dave got his start at a castle, he’s blazing into new frontiers under the guidance and leadership of the greater team.
For Dave, the best part of his job is helping creatives turn concept art into a reality. Together, he and the rest of the AOA team put guest experience in the spotlight.
