Grand Wailea: A Waldorf Astoria Resort

A LUXURY VACATION DESTINATION REIMAGINED

The beautiful Grand Wailea in Maui, Hawaii, houses a total 780 guest rooms, including 52 guest suites. It is owned by BRE Hotels and Resorts and boasts a vibrant Grand Luau dining experience complete with interactive entertainment and dazzling performances.

AOA was responsible for the complex undertaking of this multifaceted project, which included partial renovation, partial new construction, and an overall transformation of spaces at the Grand Wailea. This effort including performing food and beverage renovations for five different venues. The food and beverage projects included a design coordination effort with Tihany Design, the Architect of Record; Vita, Inc. Planning & Landscape Architecture; Focus Lighting; and other consultant teams. AOA was also responsible for value engineering, scope clarification, and buy-out for the adult and family pools and the hotel’s guest rooms. AOA hosted weekly coordination meetings to analyze and propose solutions pertaining to food and beverage locations, model room design coordination, and interactions between the owner, architect, and contractor. Throughout the project, our teams performed cost estimation, show set design, project management, and technical direction services.
