One Vanderbilt: Summit Ascent

One Vanderbilt is the fourth tallest building in the city of New York. Summit Ascent was the development of the exterior glass elevator, which had to be retrofit to the building design as it was being constructed, all while construction was months ahead of schedule.

Summit Ascent features a kinetic glass elevator experience on the exterior of the building, offering panoramic views of Manhattan via three glass walls and a partial glass floor. As the executive producer for this experience, AOA provided creative direction, oversight and management input, and technical and design planning strategies for all guest experiences, including the building’s exterior elevator, leading to the top of the tower’s observation deck. We served as the project’s executive producer, blending the creative direction of the guest experience with the technical direction necessary for execution.
