EMERGENCY ROOMS THAT PATIENTS “DON’T WANT TO LEAVE”.

AdventHealth ER at Flamingo Crossings Town Center brings emergency care and an enhanced patient experience serving the Central Florida community, Walt Disney World Guests, and Cast Members. The ER’s design is unique in the AdventHealth network, with Key West influenced architecture, advanced team member training, and Disney-inspired touches that enhance the patient experience.

AOA contributed several talents for this project, spanning nearly the whole breadth of the company’s services. We provided concept design driven by biophilic research and inspired by sophisticated color palettes. Our show set design team integrated all the creative and technical components, and our architecture and interior design team performed texture, material, and furniture selections. Our scenic design and production team painted the calming murals throughout the building, and our technical direction group seamlessly integrated colorful ambient lighting, playful projections, customized control systems, and user-friendly media monitors. We performed project management responsibilities throughout the project life cycle, including managing sub-contractors and vendors, overall schedule integration and budget projections and risk management.

This new take on emergency rooms has redefined the patient and staff experience. Staff members view the facility as their favorite work location, patients have an over 90% satisfactory experience, and staff have reported some patients expressing they “don’t want to leave” because of how relaxing and calm the environment is.
